Gerri Minshall
Gerri Minshall is an experienced clinical psychologist who has worked in child/adolescent secondary and tertiary services. She comes to the world of obesity via mental health and has run group interventions for many clinical populations including anorexic teenagers, the parents of obese children and adolescents and the parents of conduct disordered children.
Gerri has written and presented on many aspects of paediatric obesity. She has spoken numerous times at national conferences on (among other topics) socio-economic status and obesity and co-authored book chapters on behaviour modification and paediatric obesity and psycho-social stresses and obesity.
She currently works at the Children’s Hospital Westmead in the Weight Management Service. This is a multi-disciplinary, tertiary service for obese children and adolescents and is the only clinical psychologist employed by New South Wales Health in tertiary obesity. She is a member of the Australian Association of Cognitive Behaviour Therapists and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association.
